The HMS Cabinet and Parliament met recently to discuss school matters; it was a great turn-out! A Form Group newsletter will follow for the student electorate to review priorities identified by Members of Parliament (MPs).
Thanks to Cabinet Councillors for attending and updating their Year Group MPs.
All Cabinet Councillors and MPs: don't forget that we are meeting Lord Shipley shortly. Resource Packs for each group will be provided next week. Don't forget to do some research on the House of Lords and bring questions ready for the Q&A session!
Summer Fair 2018 - Raffle
The summer fair will be taking place on Saturday 23 June 2018 (12–3pm) with lots of stalls and activities along with a BBQ, cream teas and inflatable fun!
Tickets for our Grand Raffle are available to buy for 50p (£2.50 per book) from the school office. The draw will take place at the fair with winners drawn and announced from 2.30pm.
See below for some of the fantastic prizes available to win at the fair, both in the raffle and on the stalls:
HMS Ceilidh - 14/06/18
We are looking forward to the upcoming Ceilidh at HMS on Thursday 14 June (7.00pm-9.30pm). The HMS Ceilidh band will play the first half of the evening and Hexham’s local Ceilidh band ‘Hedgehog’s Skin’ will play the second half. Refreshments will be available during the evening from the HMS PTA and we are sure it will be an entertaining night! Parents/Carers can buy tickets from the school (£6 adult/£3 child).
PTA Father's Day Pop-Up Shop
The PTA are organising a Father's Day pop-up shop in Fellside hall at lunchtime on Tuesday 12 June 2018 to celebrate not just dads, but any significant men in the children's lives. The children will be able to choose a gift from a selection of items and have their gift wrapped. All gifts will be sold for £2 (including wrapping & labeling). All money raised will help the PTA fund more events and activities for HMS pupils.
The PTA will be supplying a range of exciting gifts, but if you have any unwanted gifts suitable for a man that you would like to donate, then we will gladly accept these too. Gifts can be sent to school with your child, who can drop them off at the office before Tuesday lunchtime.
