On Monday, three lucky Year 6 girls who were selected as finalists in a county-wide writing competition called ‘Women of the Wall’ visited The Sill outdoor learning centre to attend an awards ceremony.

A big well done to all the pupils, parents and staff who completed Tynedale Hospice’s charity walk, Hadrian’s Hike, on Saturday. Many thanks to all who sponsored the participants; our total just keeps going up and up! We’re looking forward to seeing what the final amount will be – watch this space!

Thanks as well to the parents who supplied these great photographs of the day! Click on the thumbnails below to see them all:

Congratulations to Katherine, Elizabeth and Elodie (all in Year 6) who have been selected by the Hexham Book Festival as finalists in a short storywriting competition. These three will be attending an awards ceremony at The Sill on Monday 16 July 2018. Fingers crossed one or more of their stories wins a prize!

We've had an update from Mr Armstrong on the French Trip! They arrived safely at Portsmouth this morning, all ready to board the ferry. Everyone was excited for the journey ahead!

Following the success of our Italian Themed Menu, we are having an American Themed Menu on Friday 6 July 2018

Thanks to support from the HMS PTA, Year 5 spent last Thursday afternoon watching Ti-Jean et la Chèvre, a theatrical production by Théâtre Sans Frontières based on a magical feast of tales from around the French speaking world – Canada, Africa and the Caribbean – a fun filled show told through live action, puppetry and catchy songs.

All of the pupils enjoyed themselves and had great fun singing along to the songs.

"The costumes were really cool and the acting was great" Benjamin, Year 5.

"When I didn't understand the words I looked at the props then I understood what was happening" Abigail, Year 5.
