Calling all creative writers! Fancy a challenge over the February Half Term holiday? BBC Radio 2's annual 500 words writing competition is open to entries. Each year, thousands of children from up and down the country enter short stories of no longer than 500 words to be judged. HMS students have been successful in getting their stories through to the second and third rounds before now, but could this be the year we submit a winning story?! Not only could you win a huge stack of books, you could also win the chance to hear your story read aloud by a celebrity at the home of British Storytelling: Shakespeare's Globe theatre in London. If you fancy your chances of winning, follow the link below, take inspiration from the videos and past entries, then submit your stories online. The deadline for entries is 7.00pm on 25 February 2016. Good luck!
