David Almond Visit
At the beginning of the month, 30 pupils from Year Eight were treated to a creative writing workshop provided by the acclaimed children’s author David Almond. A long-standing friend of the school, David enjoyed spending the day in Beaumont library and took pupils out in to the community garden in order to inspire some beautiful descriptive writing and poetry. He was able to share his own creative writing experiences, advising pupils on a thorough drafting process and sharing techniques for taking inspiration from surroundings in order to inspire fantastic written work. We would like to thank the PTA for their backing of this event and look forward to welcoming David in to school again soon.

Please see the letter to parents/carers from Mr Atkins regarding the end of term and the start of the next academic year.
Visit to Seven Stories
The pupils from year eight thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Michael Morpurgo exhibition at Seven Stories on Wednesday 6 July 2016. We were lucky enough to be the first school to experience the exhibition and felt very privileged! Pupils were inspired by very creative and interesting tasks and activities provided. The staff were knowledgeable and very enthusiastic - we had a brilliant time and have come back with many creative ideas to inspire our own writing.
Charity Rainbow Day
As you will be aware this week is our International Week, as part of this we are having a 'Charity Rainbow Day' on Friday 15 July 2016 to show our support to local charities as well as our on-going promotion of equality and diversity.
Therefore, on Friday, we would ask that pupils wear bright rainbow colours. We would also ask for a suggested donation of £1 which will go to our local charities.
Many thanks for your continued support.
