What a magical week in Spain! Day 4 started with a special churros con chocolate breakfast alongside the usual continental buffet. The group then ventured straight into the Mediterranean Sea for a morning swim and fun-filled time. Pupils were then challenged to use their language skills around Calafell where they had the opportunity to purchase souvenirs and goodies in the local shops.
After a short coach journey, the group arrived at Poble Espanyol – an open-air museum showcasing different regions of Spain and all they have to offer. Pupils immersed themselves in learning about Spanish culture from all corners of the country. A short bus ride later, the group stopped at the Olympic Stadium (currently Barcelona FC’s home ground) for photos and discussion about its Olympic legacy from 1992. Pupils then spent the next part of the day shopping at Las Arenas – a former bullring turned shopping centre.
After a busy morning, the next stop was a guided tour of the world-famous Sagrada Familia. Everyone was in awe as they gazed upon Gaudi’s masterpiece – a truly wonderful experience for all – one for the memories for sure! The day wasn’t quite over as when the group returned to the hotel where a special tapas menu consisting of 10 different dishes was waiting for them! Pupils tried calamari, Spanish omelette and croquettes – what a treat to end a special week away!
The return journey has now started and we are looking forward to seeing everyone this afternoon! Special thanks to Mr Armstrong, Mr Stephenson, Miss Tauk and Mrs Toor ☀️
