Y6 Girls Tag Rugby Festival

Well done to our Y6 girls who took part in the Dame Allan’s tag rugby festival on Monday evening at Blaydon Rugby Club. It was great to see the girls grow in confidence and ability throughout the event. Most players had never played any rugby before, but by the end of the event they managed to draw 3 of their 5 games and showed some really positive rugby. The whole event was centred around the core values of rugby, and after each game, teams nominated opposition players for demonstrating these values. Our girls were really mature and respectful when awarding opposition players their awards.

All girls were awesome throughout the event, but special mention to Pippa M who received multiple nominations from other teams for her excellent ability and strong team ethic. And also, to Lauren H who was awarded HMS player of the tournament for her rapid improvement from not knowing the rules at the start, to scoring 2 tries in her final game! Well done to all.

Respect. Engage. Aspire.
