This week, 17 pupils visited Northumbria University to take part in a Futbol Lingo workshop. The afternoon included both classroom-based and practical football sessions, designed to show how languages can be used in football and a wide range of future careers. Pupils learned about communication in sport, teamwork and how languages can open opportunities in areas such as coaching, media, travel and international sport.
All pupils engaged extremely well throughout the afternoon and represented HMS brilliantly. They showed excellent teamwork, communication and enthusiasm during both the practical activities and the classroom session. The visit was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience a university environment and to see the real-world value of language learning.
Respect. Engage. Aspire.
