London Adventure – Day 4
It was another fantastic day in London on Wednesday. After breakfast, we made our way across London to Shakespeare’s Globe for a guided tour and interactive workshop. This was a really special and inspirational visit and we all loved it. To learn more about the history of the theatre and the plays performed here and to immerse ourselves in a workshop experience was wonderful. The pupils really impressed our guides with their knowledge and enthusiasm! The workshops were fun, creative and active and focused on either Macbeth or Romeo and Juliet (which Year 7 will study after Christmas). The children enjoyed learning more about the famous ‘thumb bite’ as they traded Shakespearean lines!
After that, we made a quick journey back to Wembley for our guided tour of the magnificent Wembley Stadium. The tour allowed us to visit the stadium stands, changing rooms, conference room, the dug outs/pitch and even the Royal Box where Prince William watches the matches. We also had the chance to learn more about the rich and varied history of Wembley and the events that have taken place over the years. This was a memorable experience!
We gave the group a choice next – some downtime in the hotel or a visit to the London Designer Outlet for some shopping! Lots of us visited the shops and managed to pick up some great purchases! We met in Frankie and Benny’s for dinner before heading to Pop Golf in Box Park Wembley for our evening activity. Between the golf, pupils visited the games room and watched the Newcastle and Man City matches on the big screens – a great night all round!
It’s our final day in London today and we’re up early ready to get going! We’re due back into Newcastle at 8pm – updates to follow if any changes.
