Ski Trip Day 5 – Views of Mont Blanc!
Yesterday was the group’s penultimate day on the slopes and the morning light on the mountains was amazing! The morning session gave some of the best skiing of the week – a joy all round! All groups went to the highest points of the resort today and saw Mont Blanc standing proud.
Mr Whitfield’s group went up to Mont de Chambre which meant they could ski back through Val Thorens – this is always a highlight of the week. Mr Johnson went up to Pointe de Masse where the group had a great view of the whole area. Mr Gaines enjoyed skiing with his group and practicing their 360 degree turns. Mrs Barnett’s group went up Roc2 to look at Mont Blanc followed by Pointe de Chambre and loved the fast descent!
Thursday night in Les Menuiers is always one of the highlights of the week. We all went outside to watch a torchlight descent from the ESF ski groups which is so great to watch. The finale of the night is a firework display which we absolutely loved! It was disappointing not to see Mr Whitfield leading the dancing at the outdoor disco this year; however, Kirstie and Aurelia got stuck in brilliantly!
Later in the evening, Mr Johnson led a ‘Corridor Quiz’ where each room had to answer the question in French; Mr Gaines was amazed that one group thought Carlisle United’s mascot was a crocodile! It’s the final day today and the group will start their journey home after a special week and a magical experience!
