We were so proud of our orchestra who performed at this year’s Christmas Lights Switch On in Hexham on Friday. Thank you to Hexham Town Council for inviting us once again. In forest school lessons this week, we have been using our whittling skills to carve some lovely little festive elves. We have also been roasting marshmallows to make delicious s’mores and making sculptures. We were delighted to host the Tynedale School Games Sports Hall Athletics on Monday morning.It was a delight to see our pupils engaging so brilliantly in all of the events. To celebrate our Skills Builder approach, Mr Freeman-Myers attended the organisation’s 15-year celebration event in London yesterday. The event was an opportunity to review the ‘Impact Report’ and to celebrate the achievements of the approach to date. It was great to hear that HMS got a shout out on the day! We were delighted to have PiE – Performance in Education – delivering a workshop all about different careers in the NHS. At Hexham Middle School, the Health and Life Sciences are a key employment sector that we engage with as part of our careers education programme. Pupils have learned what the NHS is for and stereotypes about different jobs and roles
