Cyber First Girls Competition

The Cyber First Girls Competition aims to inspire girls interested in technology to pursue a career in cyber security. The competition is a team event, and together they tackle challenges from cryptography and logic to artificial intelligence and networking for the chance to be crowned ‘Cyber Security Champions’. Every girl from the winning team will take a brand new laptop

‘Twas the month before Christmas, when all through the school…. not a creature was stirring, except for…… Mr Nichol is very excited to launch the return of the HMS elf to help us in our countdown to Christmas! Forest School Update!

In forest school lessons this week, we have been using our whittling skills to carve some lovely little festive elves. We have also been roasting marshmallows to make delicious s’mores and making sculptures. Check out the amazing hedgehog village made by Year 5… We can’t wait to welcome you all to the forest school next Tuesday evening! 

Tynedale School Games

We were delighted to host the Tynedale School Games Sports Hall Athletics on Monday morning.It was a delight to see our pupils engaging so brilliantly in all of the events. The HMS team spirit was on show with pupils supporting their peers in all competitions.Well done everyone – we are proud of you!

Skills Builder

To celebrate our Skills Builder approach, Mr Freeman-Myers attended the organisation’s 15-year celebration event in London yesterday. The event was an opportunity to review the ‘Impact Report’ and to celebrate the achievements of the approach to date. Careers Education

We were delighted to have PiE – Performance in Education – delivering a workshop all about different careers in the NHS. At Hexham Middle School, the Health and Life Sciences are a key employment sector that we engage with as part of our careers education programme. Pupils have learned what the NHS is for and stereotypes about different jobs and roles

Christmas Pop-Up Shop 

Friday 1st December will be a non-uniform day to generate donations for our upcoming PTA pop-up shops!  Please could you try to send in a small donation which would be a suitable gift for the pop-up shop stalls (see information on the poster). If you don’t feel able to, please don’t worry at all. All children can still wear their own
