Yesterday, KS3 pupils took part in the Hexham Partnership Spelling Bee at Hexham Middle School. Pupils had to learn the French words and then spell them out using the French alphabet. A group of vocal students at QEHS and HMS was this week treated to performances and masterclasses by performers from the Samling Institute. The school students heard classical arias performed in German and Italian and understood more about the techniques and approaches involved in classical singing while also seeing how the Samling Academy students are mentored.
