Each week, form tutors award pupils in their classes with ‘HMS Way Awards’. The awards recognise pupils who shine each week and who bring our HMS values – Respect Engage Aspire – to life. House Prizes

Year 8 Football
The Year 8 boys’ team visited Ovingham Middle earlier this week for the next round of their Cup. The team will progress to the next round following a successful night of football. It was great to hear about their team performance – Mr Scott was very proud of them all! #Respect #Engage #Aspire

Head of School Awards This month’s Head of School Awards focused on great listeners – listening is one of our core ‘Skills Builder’ themes. I was delighted to see the children being recognised for their efforts in school. Skills Builder Day has Landed!
It’s Skills Builder Day across HMS today and it kicked off with ‘crime scenes’ across our classrooms. Pupils will spend the day working with their form class to solve the mysteries. They’ll be developing the 8 essential skills across the day before presenting their work later on today. What a way to end the half term… #Respect #Engage #Aspire
Make Your Own Poppy
On Remembrance Sunday, our Head Pupils will be laying a wreath as part of the service in Hexham. In preparation for Remembrance Day, pupils are invited to make their own poppy. We will be decorating our school again with a sea of poppies. The challenge is an opportunity for pupils, staff and members of our wider school community to be creative. Suggestions
Rotary Competitions
The Rotary competitions give participants the chance to express themselves through art, photography and writing, the competitions are run over three stages, club level, district and culminating in the national final. The theme for 2024-25 is ‘Wonderful Water’ The competition is open to three age groups:• Junior Up to 10 years• Intermediate 11 – 13 years• Senior 14 – 17
