As part of our World Book Day celebrations, we are welcoming the Scholastic Book Fair to HMS this week. The Fair will be held in HMS Library at lunchtime on Tuesday 5th, Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th March. New support groups for Mums and Dads running in Hexham and Prudhoe! These groups are in partnership with Northumberland Family Hubs, and the aim is to create a safe space for parents/carers to talk about any issues they are facing. Mindful Mamas (Hexham) – Thursdays (Fortnightly/Term time only*) 1pm-2.30pm at Hexham Family Hub. *Upcoming Dates: 7th March & 21st March.
Year 7 NSB Rugby 7’s tournament Here we had another inexperienced side, many playing their first games of rugby. After defeat in their first game, HMS quickly learned from the experience and went on to draw and win the next games, growing in confidence and finishing 3rd in the group, qualifying for the final of the bowl competition against hosts NSB.
Year 8 NSB Rugby 7’s tournament HMS were a relatively inexperienced rugby side who grew into the competition and improved with each game they played. In the final two games, they came very close to grabbing a well-deserved win but it wasn’t quite to be. Football Update Our Year 8 girls played brilliantly against Corbridge Middle last week and won 5-0. Two goals each for Grace B and Rose C and one for Ella H – a superb team effort! All of the girls were a credit to the school both in their attitude and in the way they played. We can’t wait for our next

As part of our careers education and raising aspiration programme, we have had a series of workshops in school this week. Pupils have engaged brilliantly across the week. Huge thanks to the North East Raising Aspirations Partnership for their sessions and for spending time at HMS this week. Pupils have focused on our key skill – ‘Aiming High’! Well done
This week we took four pupils to the Regional Technology Centre (RTC) North in Sunderland for the Cyber First Girls’ Regional Competition. The day was a fantastic opportunity for the team who made it through to the regional final.The girls competed in a carousel of activities focusing on cyber security, coding and programing. This meaningful experience gave our pupils a
