At Hexham Middle School, we value the contribution that business and employer links can make to support the wider personal development of our pupils.  Research shows that pupils who have meaningful encounters with employers throughout their school life are less likely to progress as a NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). The rich tapestry of employers across the north east region can play a significant role in igniting sparks of aspiration and motivation for the next generation.

Could Your Company Support Our Careers Programme?

If the answer to the above question is yes, perhaps you could support us in some of the following ways, by:

  • Developing bespoke workshop sessions for pupils set in our school setting. Sessions could be thematic talks, project initiatives or competitions.
  • Encouraging your employees/apprentices to share their experiences with our pupils.
  • Attending assemblies throughout the year or during National Careers Week in March.
  • Contributing towards our extra-curricular programme (lunchtime or after school).

If you would like to get involved in our careers programme, please contact Paul Freeman-Myers (Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development at Hexham Middle and Careers Leader for Hadrian Learning Trust), on 01434 610300 or email admin@hexhammiddle.org.uk
