La Petite Creperie Experience

On Wednesday, all Year 5 pupils took part in a very exciting Crepe Workshop. All workshops included a short cultural presentation where pupils learnt more about France. Broomley Grange Day

A group of Year 6 pupils spent a day of adventure and fun at Broomley Grange yesterday. Mr Morgan, Mrs Barnett and Miss Taylor loved spending the day outdoors with the children and were so impressed by the positive spirit and engagement in all of the activities. Pupils enjoyed bushcraft, tunnelling, tree climbing and archery – what a great day!

Pupil Success

Well done to Hazel, Phoebe, Molly and Eleanor, who represented HMS in the Climb Newcastle Inter-School Competition last weekend. Hazel and Phoebe both podiumed as individuals and Team HMS came first – an absolutely brilliant effort all round! We are very proud of the team! Respect. Engage. Aspire. 

An update from France…

Yesterday, despite a rainy start, the group visited a French Hypermarche where they explored a range of culinary delights. After that, they visited the outdoor markets. Newby Whiske Day 1

What a first day Year 6 had at Newby Wiske! After a picnic packed lunch, the group headed out for their first round of activities: climbing wall, fencing, trapeze to name a few! After a very busy and joyful day, the children settled into their rooms after a delicious dinner and ended the evening with a team building activity –

France Trip Update

After an exciting journey, the group arrived safely in a gloriously sunny and very warm France and immediately set off on their first excursion. They visited the Normandy beaches to experience firsthand the location in which so many gave their lives. The children approached this with maturity and respect, and all of the staff were very impressed with their engagement.

Young Green Briton Challenge Final

Well done, team!  We are so proud of Team HMS – aka The Back of the Wardrobe Bin – for travelling to London to represent the school at the Young Green Briton Challenge Finals yesterday. After months of hard work and dedication, the team made it through to the national final today and we couldn’t be prouder of them! A

Fundraising Day Total

After a fantastic day of fun and fundraising last week, we are delighted to announce that our pupils have raised £1,062 for their two chosen charities. We had cakes, crafts, quizzing, fun running, hush-a-thon and even a staff vs pupil assault course – all for great causes!  We are very proud to be making donations to both Northumberland Wildlife Trust
