The Jean Barnett Award is presented to our outstanding sportsperson of the year. This year’s recipient has been a truly outstanding representative for HMS throughout his time at middle school. Our ‘Fortitude Award’ is presented by our PE team to someone who has a strength of mind to overcome adversity with courage. This year’s award was presented to Annabelle R who has always represented HMS with pride and has been a superb ambassador of our school. As well as our usual subject awards, Mr Scott and Miss Lamont presented our special ‘most likely to be…’ awards and took the pupils down memory lane with photographs from their time in middle school. What a way to end a great year at HMS! Our Year 8 pupils had an amazing night for their leavers’ festival! Show Choir has now completed its first year! The brand new choir led by Miss Tindall and Mr Watson formed back in September 2024 and is 45-strong. The choir has performed at many events this year including sell-out concerts in school as well as at Hexham Abbey and the Christmas Lights Switch-On.
