Owen’s Charity Haircut

Owen in Year 6 has cut off his long hair and donated it to the Little Princess Trust, which makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment.

Owen had not cut his hair for around four years, and very much liked it long. He was offered a part in a play (Goodnight Mr. Tom, to be performed in the Queens Hall in June), which required him to have short hair. He was quite conflicted about this, but in the end decided that he would cut his hair off if he could donate it to charity.

There is a £700 cost to supplying a wig to a child even after the hair has been donated, so Owen and his family have also set up a Just Giving page and he has so far raised over £1600 so far!

We are all very proud of Owen – donations can be made at the below link.
