After a smooth journey this year, we arrived at the resort to a lot of excitement once we saw how much snow there was. It was great to be back in the Skilt Hotel – it is now a home away from home for HMS. To get us started, we met our instructors Fredrick, Nicolas, Alice and Alexandria.
First up, the group started on the magic carpet, finding our ski legs – Fredrick quickly took his group off to ski and had spectacular views of Mont Blanc. The other groups moved to a second magic carpet and put a lot of focused effort into sliding and turning – I have a feeling they may be going further a field tomorrow! All of our instructors praised their skiers for the effort, positive attitude and progress made on day one.
The forecast is amazing – another sunny day ahead tomorrow and after that, it looks like we will see a few days of snow, which is very exciting! The evening’s entertainment saw Mia R winning the Rock Paper Scissors Championships. Well done Mia!
