HMS PTA Summer Fair

What a day we had on Saturday for this year’s HMS PTA Summer Fair. The sun was shining (with a little bit of welcome rain!) and all of the hard work and preparation came together for another hugely successful fair. This year’s ‘Day at the Movies’ theme was a great success. The Summer Fair is always such a community event and we are so grateful for

U13 Cricket Success!

On Wednesday, the U13 cricket team won an epic county cup quarter-final match against NSB to send them to the semi-final a day later! HMS batted first and set a target of 121 to win, with Sonny (38), Rory (35 not out) and Benson (17) all posting excellent scores with the bat. They followed this with an excellent bowling performance

Rugby Success!

This was easily the most rewarding and pleasant experience I’ve had on a school fixture/trip. The girls were immaculate from start to finish in terms of their behaviour, attitude, respect for others, politeness and general conduct throughout the day. One quote from another school was: “You are just the nicest people ever” – wow! On the pitch, however, the girls

Spain Day 4

What a magical week in Spain! Day 4 started with a special churros con chocolate breakfast alongside the usual continental buffet. The group then ventured straight into the Mediterranean Sea for a morning swim and fun-filled time. Pupils were then challenged to use their language skills around Calafell where they had the opportunity to purchase souvenirs and goodies in the

Well Done Ben!

We are so proud of Ben for raising £420 for Cancer Research UK by running a cake sale earlier this term.  A huge thank you from Ben (and me) for the cake donations, the support in running the stall and to the children for making him so busy!  Respect. Engage. Aspire.

Sun

Weather ReminderThe sun is shining and it’s forecast for very high temperatures tomorrow.  Pupils can wear their PE uniform tomorrow if they wish, for example, shorts and PE t-shirt. Please remember to apply sun cream before school. Pupils will need a water bottle with them and a sun hat is recommended! Thank you

Clean Air Day

Clean Aid Day is here and it’s the ideal opportunity to talk about how we travel, especially those shorter everyday journeys and how you can make them more sustainable, protecting our health and the environment from harmful pollutants. Even though we often can’t see it, air pollution is linked to a range of health problems at every stage of our

Zoolab

Zoolab Year 6 loved their workshops with Rob from Zoolab earlier this week. Zoolab visited Year 6 as part of their science curriculum to discuss all things evolution, inheritance and classification! Their learning was brought to life by an exciting selection of wildlife – have a look at some of the creatures that visited HMS. Rob was very impressed with

Spain Day 3

After another delicious breakfast in the hotel, pupils were ready for another busy day in Spain. The group made the journey to Port Aventura to enjoy a day at the theme park. Pupils enjoyed fast-pass entry to some of the best rides in Europe including one of the tallest rollercoasters – Shambala! Everyone enjoyed Stampida, Dragon Khan and Tutuki Splash

Spain Day 2

After a delicious continental breakfast at the hotel, the first stop of day 2 was at Montserrat which was breathtaking! The group were lucky enough to enjoy a 1.35km cable car journey to the top of the mountain before exploring the Basilica – the views were amazing! A quick picnic lunch in the sunshine was followed by a visit into
