Rotary Competitions

The Rotary competitions give participants the chance to express themselves through art, photography and writing, the competitions are run over three stages, club level, district and culminating in the national final. The theme for 2024-25 is ‘Wonderful Water’ The competition is open to three age groups:• Junior Up to 10 years• Intermediate 11 – 13 years• Senior 14 – 17

HMS Way

Each week, form tutors award pupils in their classes with ‘HMS Way Awards’. The awards recognise pupils who shine each week and who bring our HMS values – Respect Engage Aspire – to life. Well done to this week’s winners – we are very proud of you all! #Respect #Engage #Aspire

Year 6 Football

The Year 6 team visited Corbridge Middle School to compete in the Central Venue League this week. It was a great performance by the HMS boys and Mr Scott was proud of their efforts on the night.  The team drew one match, won the next match with a header from Charlie C – great set piece play and were defeated

Club Update

Look at what’s been going on with Full of Beans at Hexham Middle School. Our Multi Games Club was shining brightly recently. Thank you to Full of Beans for supporting our extra-curricular activities programme so brilliantly!  The pupils that attend really enjoyed this glow sports activity! #Respect #Engage #Aspire 

Football Festival

On Tuesday, 44 Year 5s participated in our inaugural ‘Festival of Football’. Mr Nichol was thrilled by the level of footballing skill on display. All pupils performed admirably and represented our ethos of Respect, Engage, Aspire superbly. Well done to all involved! Heartwood Visit

Art club pupils went to the Queen’s Hall yesterday to visit the ‘Heartwood’ exhibition. The artwork was created by Shona Branigan following the tragic felling of Sycamore Gap and includes prints on discs from the trunk of the tree. This was a significant event in our local area and this is a poignant exhibition currently being shown in Hexham. Pupils

STEM to Stars Launch

Year 5 were so excited to engage in the launch of the ‘STEM to Stars’ project yesterday. HMS will be working with Kielder Observatory this year and pupils enjoyed a visit to the planetarium for an exciting workshop this week. This was an inspiring session to launch the project for the year ahead!  We’ll soon be launching our new ‘Space

Dance Success!

Abigail continues to shine and her commitment to dance is phenomenal. This weekend, she danced in the grand final of the ‘Can you dance? Super Convention’ in Liverpool. She danced as part of the Evolution Training Group and it was a great experience for her – she danced in a huge arena on a professional stage – what an achievement!
