After another delicious breakfast in the hotel, pupils were ready for another busy day in Spain. The group made the journey to Port Aventura to enjoy a day at the theme park. Pupils enjoyed fast-pass entry to some of the best rides in Europe including one of the tallest rollercoasters – Shambala! Everyone enjoyed Stampida, Dragon Khan and Tutuki Splash

After an early start and a successful outward trip, the group arrived at El Prat in the glorious Spanish sunshine. The first stop was a visit to Tarragona (Roman City) and a stop at the famous gothic cathedral. Pupils explored the building as well as having a walk through the historical Old Town where they had the chance to use
On Saturday, Miss Richardson and Mrs McIntyre were lucky enough to get tickets to watch the very talented Sam L (Year 7) perform piano at The Vault in Hexham. Sam was absolutely fantastic! He showed such confidence in playing (and talking!) to a packed venue, including to some of his classmates and teachers. We were really proud of him. Respect.
A very excited group of pupils and staff gathered at HMS earlier this morning to set off on their Spanish adventure. Mr Stephenson has just updated me – the airport all went smoothly, and everyone is at the departure gate ready to board the flight. It is set to be a fantastic week and we can’t wait to hear all
It was great to welcome the Fire and Rescue Service back into school last week. Year 7 had the opportunity to take part in water safety workshops as part of the ‘Stay Safe and Well Curriculum’. This is such an important part of our curriculum, particularly as the summer months have started. Thank you to the visiting Fire Service crew
Well done to our Year 7 boys’ cricket team who took victory against Corbridge by 18 runs. Hexham batted first and put on 108 runs in 16 overs, with top scores coming from Rory A (31 not out) & Joseph D (27). They then put in a very good bowling and fielding performance to restrict them to 90 runs. Rory
