Mr Barry’s Sports Round-Up: Y7 Rugby and Football

Year 7 Boys’ Rugby

Last Thursday was the boys’ Year 7 Rugby Union Festival. The scores were as follows:

Hex vs Gosforth 0-0

A very close game against an experienced side! HMS almost won it late on but the try was disallowed after consultation with the touch judge! Great start!

Hex vs Blyth 2

Tries scored by: Dan T (x3), Dan B

A great performance bouncing back from a try down! The Daniel’s put their dancing feet to good use running in some brilliant tries. Highlight of the game came when Adam W made a last ditch tackle and stole the ball in the process when the game was at 2-2! Good win for HMS

Hex vs Norham 1

Dan T (x2), Will HA (x3), Charlie C (x2), Dan B, Joel L, Orin

A huge win for HMS with a number of great individual and team tries off the back of great defence!

Hex vs Ponteland

Tries scored by: Joe E, Charlie C (x2), Dan T, Owen S, Dan B

Another huge win for HMS and Charlie C’s first try gained a huge reaction from the watching crowd as the build up play from Owen and the backs was simply sensational!

Hex vs Newminster

Tries scored by: Joel L (x2), Charlie C (x2), Dan B

HMS finished the day with another brilliant win and more great attacking rugby! Well done boys!

The boys were incredible from start to finish and remain unbeaten in all competitions this year!

Year 7 Boys’ Football

On the same day, the Year 7 Boys’ Football team was in action against John Spence in the county cup.

The boys played incredibly!! They ran out 4-0 winners with goals from Alex H, Sam C, James S and Alex M and man of the match performances from Ollie P and Josh R.

Every single player played amazingly well and were a credit to the school!

RGS await in the next round
