Our second day in Barcelona was packed with unforgettable experiences and opportunities to explore the rich culture and history of Catalonia.
The morning began with a spectacular trip to Montserrat, travelling up the mountain by cable car and taking in the breathtaking views. Pupils visited the beautiful basilica, with some fortunate enough to witness the start of a service, adding a special and memorable element to their visit. A picnic lunch at the top of Montserrat provided the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
Back in the city, we explored the vibrant atmosphere of La Boqueria Market, wandered around Port Vell, and visited the Maremagnum Shopping Centre. We then headed to the iconic FC Barcelona area, where pupils explored the museum and shopping complex, learning more about one of the world’s most famous football clubs and its place in Barcelona’s culture and history.
The day concluded back at the hotel, where pupils sampled a variety of traditional tapas including tortilla española and patatas bravas before being captivated by an authentic flamenco performance. The energy, passion, and skill of the dancers left everyone in awe and provided a fantastic end to an incredible day.
A wonderful day was enjoyed by all, with pupils continuing to demonstrate our school values of Respect, Engage, Aspire throughout.
